Living for Him and through Him is the same

Our life in Christ must be through Him daily. We cannot attempt to do it ourselves without Him. Because we can’t! If anyone is going to live a life dedicated to Christ and in service to Him they have to admit that they are sinners on a daily basis. Just as someone who smokes cigarettes has to admit that they have an addiction to cigarettes before they can possibly quit. We have to depend on Him daily for the strength to resist sin and the temptation to sin, no matter what the sin is or how “small” we consider it to be. In His eyes, there is no small sin. Just as there is no little lie or a little bit of murder. They are what they are and nothing else.

No one should consider themselves a Christian if they cannot say, truthfully, that they pray daily for the strength and wisdom to carry them through each day. Some people have said that being a Christian should be easy and that after accepting Christ we are supposed to be perfect. Jesus did say that we are to be perfect as the Father is perfect but He only meant that we are to strive to be perfect by confession of our sins and prayer for strength to resist temptation. We cannot be perfect in our sinful earthly body because anything that is corruptible cannot be perfect and our bodies are not perfect in a spiritual sense. God made our bodies perfect in the ways that they need to be so that all of the parts of our bodies work together, at least until something starts going wrong as we get older or due to disease or accidents.

Living in the times that we are living in is getting harder for Christians because we are considered to be the ones committing “hate crimes” and being non-conformist because we live according to our beliefs. Jesus said that we would be hated because of Him and we are seeing more and more of that everyday. It is going to get worse for all of us but we, as followers of Christ, are going to be targeted more and more as time moves closer to His second coming. I truly look forward to the day or night when He calls us home. Then the world will truly see what hard times really look like. Be in prayer for all who haven’t acknowledged Him and especially for those who don’t know Him at all.

Our time is short but His message is timeless

God is the creator of the Universe regardless of what science tells people. He placed the stars and galaxies exactly where He wanted them to be and they will stay that way unless He says otherwise. Our lives should be the same. We should strive to do His will in our lives and in the place where He has placed us. Non-believers, take heart, God loves and cares for you too.

He is only waiting for you to decide to place your faith in Him. He knows exactly what you need and when you need it. Your life is in His hands and always has been, because He formed you in the womb! He knows exactly and perfectly about you. More intimately than anyone on earth could ever know you is the way that God knows you.

Don’t put off your decision to join in partnership with Him. Jesus stands at the door of your heart and knocks, gently. But, He knows exactly when you will answer. Give Him that answer soon, won’t you? God doesn’t love you because of what you have done in the past, He loves you because of who He created you to be! He knows what you can do for Him and His kingdom and the limitations that you may have, but He also knows how much you can accomplish that someone else may not be able to do.

We are each given a measure of talents and gifts by God to be used in His service, with no regard to our present circumstances. He knows exactly what you can and cannot do and will give you the words to say when they are needed.

Do what you can for Him while you still have the time to do so! He will reward you with far greater value than earthly things can be measured.

I don't know what I would do without Him

This may be one of those "I told you so" posts but it is true! I don't know what I would do or be without God and His Son in my life! I do remember what life was like when I had not accepted Him and it wasn't pretty or anywhere near normal. I was trying meditation, incense, Eastern religions, alcohol, drugs, etc. If it made me feel better, even the slightest bit, I gave it a shot.

Then when I did accept Him into my life, it was a long time before my life and my witness for Him became real. My spirit had changed, but my life and what others saw had not really changed that much. I would hear a little voice inside telling me that something that I was doing was wrong, but many times I pretended not to hear. I "knew" I was saved so I figured I had my "fire" insurance and I didn't need to do anything else.

Man, was I WAY off base! It took the gift of my son's birth and his questions as a toddler to wake me up to the fact that he was watching everything that I did and said. I was responsible for him and his view of a good father and I wasn't even close to being "good". I should've been much closer to God and much more dedicated to serving Him at this point but I was still a babe in Christ. After more than a decade of being saved, I was still at the same point that I was the week after I accepted Him.

God knew it was time for me to change, actually past time. So the opportunity came and I took it. There is no getting away from God because the harder you run from Him, you will run into Him just that much faster. When God decides that it is time for you to serve Him, you will, one way or another. He will use situations or people or whatever He needs to use to get you to see things His way.

Now that I have come to know Him and what He wants me to do with my life, I have learned a lot. Just reading and studying His word from the Bible has taught me about His patience and kindness. And about His love for all of us and why we are still here. There are too many days behind to worry about the days to come. The future is a mystery and today is a gift, that is why it is called the present. The past is gone, as long as we learned from it what we were supposed to learn it served its purpose.

All we have to do is serve our purpose now. Daily, you have to get up and go to school or work or somewhere. Take God with you. He is there anyway so you might as well acknowledge Him. Ask Him to help you with your problems, even the small ones. He cares enough to do that even if He is the creator of the universe! He deserves your devotion and your love just as your parents do for He formed you in the womb. He knows you better than anyone, get to know Him and you will never be alone again.

How can I go on? Is there a God who cares?

There are many people who may be asking this question right now. What kind of advice would you give? What would you say to someone who is hurting from a loss of a family member? Or even the loss of a job?

I don’t want to give some trite words about the love of God or that the answer can be found in the Bible although both of those do apply and are true. The words that many people need to hear is that God does love you!

I know that I said I did not want to give that as advice but it is the truth. The only way to see these as the truth that they are is to look around the creation of God and notice the order and perfection that is there. This cannot happen because of a big bang! We did not “evolve” from chimpanzee’s or from some primordial ooze or from one-celled organisms!

God created the world in six days! I know that is something that most scientists don’t believe but with God, anything is possible! That is another one of those things that you hear that many people don’t want to hear, especially during times of loss and grief. This is the very news that everyone needs to hear!

Our lives are the miracles that everyone expects to see, although most people don’t think of our lives that way. If God decided that He wanted to remake the world today, that would be the end of it all. Unfortunately, most people don’t realize that we live because of the love and grace that He extends to us every second of our lives!

We go on because He wants us to go on with our lives. To be His creation is the ultimate joy for me because He created me and every person, every creature on this planet to serve His purpose! This is something that we all need to understand, God put us where we are at this point in time to do His will. If you don’t know or understand that, get a Bible and read it! His will for everyone, no matter where you are or what your “religion” happens to be is in that book.

He gave us the freedom to choose our way and unfortunately many don’t follow Jesus or the Bible or any of the teachings that are in it. God knows you and your decision, even before you make it. He knows this because He created you! Give Him your life, come to Him with your feelings, your problems, your grief. He knows about it already, He is just waiting for you to call Him and His phone is always on and always available. He is by your side no matter where you are or what situation you may be in. He loves you and cares for you like no one else can, give Him the chance to prove His love and you will never be disappointed and alone again!

God Loves You!!

It seems that every time I post, the devil himself gets offended. Which is fine with me as long as he leaves my family alone. I know that many people don't think that the devil or Satan exists but he does. The problems in our country and all around the world attest to that. He has dominion over this world but God has dominion over him. The only way that he can hurt you is if God allows it to happen, if you are a Christian. Otherwise, he can do whatever he wishes until you realize that the only way to protect yourself and your family is to come to Jesus and ask Him into your heart and life.

Now, I am not saying that everything will be perfect after you accept Him but your spiritual life and your physical life will be under His protection from Satan's influence. And that is always a step in the right direction.

Christ said that when he came into the world it would cause conflict and that we, as Christians, would be hated because the world hated Him first. His love for us is spelled out in the Bible in so many passages that it would be hard to miss.

The Old Testament is usually seen as the history of the nation of Israel and it is to a certain extent but it is also where God shows just how much patience He has. He has far more patience than any human father would and He is our true father since He formed us in the womb.

Our universe was created by God, not some "big bang" or other random events. All of us and every star and galaxy was created by Him as well. The millions of species on this planet were designed by God to do exactly what they do and for the environment in which they live. There isn't enough time in the universe for all of these things to have happened by "random events" or evolution. God watches over all things that He created whether it happens to be something which He created in His image, like man, or not. You are special to Him because you were and are made in His image and the image of His Son! No one can take that away from you and if you would acknowledge it and accept Him as your Lord and Savior you will feel it! Like a BIG hug from your Dad, even if you never got one of those, that is how it feels when you surrender to Him. Give God a try....you won't be disappointed!
